Pieces of Sky

Pieces of Sky is a group of prints on handwoven paper. The paper is woven from shredded paper like all my prints, some from published sources and others from large sketch paper covered in inked words and patterns, blurred with an alcohol soaking, heat set, and finally shredded.

Once woven into cloud forms, I make drypoint plates from my drawings, which will be printed as monoprints (one of a kind) with Tamarind master printer Irene Michniki - @milestonegraphics.

The images are of commonplace subjects - snapshots and sketches transformed by scratching them into acrylic printing plates and repetitively printing them slightly out of alignment to give each representation a sense of weight, motion, and blur as well as incorporating different ink colors.
